Divine: “excellent, delightful, of, from or like God”
definition: Dictionary.com
Lefse: ” a humble Norwegian flatbread made, very messily, from leftover mashed potatoes passed off as a delicacy served at holidays”
definition: mine
You were created to be excellent and delightful. You need and crave beauty and order. But day to day life is messy, leftover mashed potatoes.
Grace is what allows us to pass it all off as a delicacy.
You can have a more relaxed happy home life surrounded by more beauty, filled with more grace, run with more order. The result? Peace, clarity, and more meaningful moments.
More of my Story
Twenty-five years ago I had a dream to launch a design/life magazine and business. It was going to be called “Looking for Direction”. And it would have been a disaster.
I had way too much to learn.
So I took all kinds of windy paths. And listened. And learned. And waited. Now I want to help you create a beautiful home in all its meaning.
It all boils down to beauty, grace, & order.
I’ve been an interior designer, kitchen and bath designer, and closet designer. I love a construction site. I’ve also been a conference planner and sold advertising. I’m perpetually half-way through an MA in liberal studies, with an emphasis in creative writing. I’m a cat lover turned dog lover, INFP, part Enneagram 4, part 7, wife, mom to two teenage girls, and up and coming professional tap dancer (that one’s iffy).
I’m a late bloomer in all things, marriage and motherhood included. I’ve managed colonoscopy prep and playground tears in the same afternoon.
I’ve been known to turn a burner on high, walk away, and decide to start a gardening project. I love to write. I break things. Fortunately my husband can fix (just about) anything. If there’s real maple syrup or hollandaise sauce at stake, I’ll lick the plate.
I’ve never actually made lefse. For the past several years, my cousin Bill has sent me his homemade stuff just in time for Christmas. I was in a gourmet group for 20 years. I still love to cook and eat really good food. It just has to be quicker these days.
I want the words “well done, good and faithful servant” to guide my life. Because that’s what truly matters in the end, and puts all into proper perspective.
I bring you my wandery path, eclectic resume, and the passion to help you live well and love your home.
